Why no dedicated hydraulics forum?

It may be a silly question, but why is the no dedicated hydraulics forum? We have dedicated electric, dedicated machine repair, etc. But no hydraulics focused forum. I am by no means a hydraulic expert, but I am positive some members are. I would love to ask some hydraulics questions as I work on repairing my surface grinder.

Any opinions?

A search of “hydraulic” on the forum does show quite a few posts on the topic.

There should be a hydraulic category added.

Sometimes all it takes is the suggestion to do it and it might be done.

That's great. I like the idea of putting hydraulics and pneumatics together. Would definitely be a useful forum for me. I hope that it gets approved.

I've done hydraulics professionally, and happy to contribute!

Looking for advice on if I should consider tooling up for hose making at work. any thoughts on economical crimpers?

John

Don't go cheap on a crimper. Remember your dealing with some high pressures anywhere from 1,000 to 10,000 psi. you don't want a hose coming apart because of a poor crimp or cheap hose and fittings Stay with a name brand Parker or Aeroquip come to mind . You are possibly libel if there's a failure and an injury results. Some European machines run at 10,000 and above pressures.
