Why does the DRO value not match the cut.

Unless I am running a boxcutter with rollers, I take a rough cut down to .030” diametrically oversize. Measure stock. Take another .015” cut to see what it took. Measure. Then take the adjusted / calculated remaining amount to get to finish size. My .02
 
A DRO only tells you where the reader is on the scale, not always exactly where the tool is.
