What’s the boxes southbend

Thanks to all that replied. The booster is indeed wired from the stater. Two Wires one from each coil However, the switch is wired from the coils. Trying to keep original and keep cost down. Lathe came from a high school. This lathe I plan on selling. As I also bought a 13” from them. Thanks again.
 
If anybody is still looking at this post. I found some informative videos. I checked across L1 to T1 L2 to T2 L3 To T3. All the readings were ol contact open and 00 contact closed. Manually closed contacts and got forward and reverse. There is not a good way to clean the contacts. Any ideas as to why the coils are not closing. Diagnostics to perform. Wild/ high leg from rotary converter is 214v.
