Vintage Cast iron surface plate, is it worth the effort?

my CI surface plate has a much different bottom. not a 45 degree cross pattern, but a straight pattern, and if I remember correctly an open box in the middle.
 
I have to look at mine at work. It has 4 feet it is about 12”x16”. It has been scraped. Have had it 40 years. Works great for general work. I really like I can use my magnetic bases on it.

It must be a bench plate. I will see if it is marked on the bottom. Have not looked at the bottom for who knows how long.

I had never heard of a bench plate before this thread. It makes sense to have one to work on, and setup on. Good info, not that I can use it for anything, but good to know.
