tool tip No4

PS So moth balls/crystals would work?

My mistake... that's what I get for typing when I'm half asleep. Camphor is available in various forms from amazon.com

So what is the end goal here?

Rust really isn't much of an issue where i live, so a quick spray of WD-40 is likely to provide good protection for years.

Regularly used sharp tools have drawer compartments or stands of their own, of course.

To avoid mechanical damage, I use the tool dip on sharp cutters I make or modify for special purpose and put away to keep for long term storage after that first use.

I like aluminum foil for cutters that get occasional use. I have lots of sharp edge tools that can't afford their own apartments, and must live in the dorms, sharing bunks with their friends. . .
