I feel you @Brento I bought the 6x8 version...not really any cheaper, but it wont really have a home and (for the moment) its just for setting up new tools on the Tormach.

I dont really have an inspection spot set up so i ideally need 2 blocks but i also need some others like surface gages and everything. For now ill just stick with 1 block to polish. 2 of my 3 machines arent running yet so no need for inspections yet.

I picked up their 12x18 a few years ago, and it has been a pretty great plate so far.

I went to a local monument company (grave markers), told them what I wanted and why. I got two polished slabs, 3” thick 18” x 22” of black granite (fall-off scraps) for $8.00 each. I use one for sanding and the other for a bench “anvil”
