WTB Surface plate

I am looking for a surface plate. Probably a 8.5 x 11 or something that size. The catch is there is no catch. I want a surface plate to do some polishing and sanding on. So the plate doesnt have to be crazy accurate but i would like something that is flat that would never give me problems in the future to ruin a flatness critical part.

You could order a new grade "B" from Shars or Travers. A small plate should not be too bad to ship.

Not a bad price. Was hoping cheaper a little but that is a good deal. If i did it right i could prob use it for measuring also if i wrapped it every time i used it to sand maybe.

I use borosilicate glass for polishing and sanding. Cheap and much more portable.

Go to a granite counter shop and get a sink cut out.

I bought a piece of 1/4" plate glass for lapping. It put it on a piece of 1" MDF and it works great.
