Super Modified Straight Axle

RCB

The GM caliper appears to be a large and bulky unit. The Ford caliper appears to be a smaller unit, and my weigh in less. I would be tempted to see if your local auto parts guys, or rebuilders have one of each in stock. That way you could check out the size, and with a bathroom scale, you could check the weight.

I wouldn,t care just what brand of caliper was fitted up to the spindle/rotor combo, providing it could do the job. As mentioned, the rebuilders would have many samples to look at. Bring in some coffee,s and a good attitude, and that should get you rollin.

paul

there's 3 different rotor/caliper combinations to pick from.

now after all this, i think i'll do the Sprint Car axle.

this '49-53 type axle is heavy and

i am committed to using Sprint Car torsion bars and

a light weight quickchange rearend.

plus the price comes out the same.

the spindles and GM calipers are less but then

for one thing the brackets are more.

have a nice day!
