here the price difference fluctuates, but it was only $3 -$15 at times for a batt. my bathroom remodel (did myself) came out much warmer in the winter.. I could not believe the diff. The R value is supposedly the same, but I believe that it is keeping the wind from blowing through because of the density. it's quieter too.

The other nice thing is; I kept the offcuts , and use it for torching. I was going to buy kaowool , but this has sufficed. Close quarter pipe sweating no problem, need to heat treat and make a tunnel to keep the heat in.. no problem.
