so I bought a mill

The good-I bought a cinncinati toolmaster 1-d
The bad- the quill wont move... so its a rebuild.
The ugly- the paint looks nasty.
The 1-d is the exact mill ive wanted .sine I got into this. if Jesus was a machinist, he'd be running a 1-d, thats how nice they are. this one has been sitting for a long while, but everytbhing is still pretty smooth.
heres the funny part, the mill has a shaper attachment AND I got a pratt and Whitney model c 12x30 (an awesome lathe, just... wow), a brown and sharp #2 grinder, 14" nikkon optical comparator, and a monarch 10ee in with the mill, for $1500. the pw is the only thing that doesnt need work... but its a little bit of a tool gloat.
I'll post picks when I figure out how to on the smart phone

No wonder you needed such a long trailer!! What time did you forget out of there???? That Monarch is over 3000 pounds!!

Ok i have the phone kinda figured out. i was able to pick up the mill and the pw lathe (2nd pic on rollers).sorry they are sideways. next pics are the machines i didnt have room for, an odd brown and sharp grinder with a with a spindle moltor should have belt driven spindle... head scratcher there), a nikkon 14" comparator in real nice shape. and a 10ee that needs some love and is missing both serial plates... once the mill and lathe are in place I'll snap a pic

My truck (actually the father in laws truck) had all it could handle pulling the mill and lathe. I'll pick up the rest in the spring. ithink the trailer was 1500lbs, mill was 2800, and the lathe was 2700 or so. so the f150 was bogged down on hills.
Loaded both by hand like an egyptian with a come-a-long. I get a kick out of moving machine by hand, but its a young mans game and I'm getting old fast!

Wow, we should have warned you that those machines are top heavy. Looks like they're both on their sides!

Seriously, it looks like you scored a couple of great machines. Congratulations!

finally got the lathe into the corner, next to the freezer.
i have to finish drywalling around it soon, cause kerosene heating the garage without insulation is costing me... alot. I havent touched the mill yet, i have to sell my silly grinder first to make room (among other things). I still have to get the timber out from under it, and level it, And then i have to run eletricity to it, as my VFD wont run a 3 hp motor, and i haven't brought my RPC up. And i need/want a press.

egads i need to get going.
No buyers remorse though, i bought a jacobs chuck for it, worth the 80 bucks i think.

The Cincy is gorgeous!
Huge engine lathe. Score!

The Toolmaster parts and service manual is posted in the Cincy history here at HM, courtesy of one of our much appreciated members.
Should you want more on the Cincy Slotter, then please let me know.
I've been fortunate to collect some stuff.
If your slotter included a tool holder, then I may plead for pics! As I need to make one.
