When it becomes not profitable for the distributor, the distributor will quit handling Leeson products.

Wow...just wow! I almost said "I can't believe this" but I actually can. If I was the vendor I would be seriously tempted to tell them to pound sand. I suspect if you ordered a pallet of motors things would be fine, and maybe that's what Leeson prefers to do, so they don't put effort into shipping singles hoping eventually that will dry up entirely.

Thank you for posting the info.
It's hard to believe that the system is so fundamentally screwed up.
As I understand the Distributors email, Leeson is actually INCENTIVISED, by UPS, to continue inadequate packaging.
There must be an additional process for the Distributor to be made whole again.
All of the problems add cost to the end user without adding any value.

Sure looks like that, Leeson sells another motor and UPS gets paid for shipping the return and the replacement... Nuts!
