Ran the Tail Stock Out Too Far Again!

Sounds good enough. I was thinking cutting in a lathe but there's really no need for a precision cut. I cut the tang of a drill chuck off with an angle grinder cutoff disc and touched it up with the bench sander. I looked into a parallel OD MT3 ID adapter and didn't want to spend $40 for something I would use for two quick cuts.

Just a quick follow-up. While I still want to get the fill travel of the tail stock quill, the performance has been silky smooth since the incident and repair. It's much easier to deal with the reduced travel than to worry about going too far. I haven't had time to try further improvements; still cranking out small parts for the Battleship Texas's 5 inch guns.
