Proprietary Bearings may be a reason for the scrap pile

There are a lot of bearing assemblies that are either press fit or put together by heating the outside part and chilling the inside part. You probably need to preserve the sleeve, even if it means sacrificing the bearing to get it off. You may also be able to make a mandrel to press the sleeve out of the bearing race. The bearing is probably not hard to find, the sleeve is likely impossible to replace unless you make one from scratch.
