Thanks for the comprehensive reply Jim. I'll try to go over that sometime this week. Excellent info. Love the angled T slot, that's a special feature.

The primary issue - the plate does not sit flat and won't. As noted the spindle runs pretty true so I demurred from seating the chuck plate with a 2 lb hammer. ;)
