Sandia & LJP thanks for the reply. i got the approval from the finance department (aka my wife) to order some blanks im going to get some 3/8, 1/2 and 5/8. now im going to start looking for a ready built jig or fixture and some stone for my bench grinder any sources or input in that department would be helpful

How in the world do you get approval from the finance co. I cant!!!!!!

markknx it was a pretty cherry 1980 FLH its the least i could do for everything he has done for me over the years. i also cut me some 1/2x1/8 strap as per your advice thanks man

i got my QCTP Installed i made a couple 3/4x1'' SS domed bungs for some fender struts but i forgot to take pictures before my dad took them to his house to polish while im at work tomorrow

You ply her with her favorite adult beveridge and snack. For mine that would be a german Hefe Weizen beer and a pound of deep fried gizzard and hearts. I can do the brew, but the entrails are well beyond me.... When she is in that "Happy" spot, pop the funding question quietly and see what happens....

That's way too much work for me. I just bought mine a new sewing machine and told her "You got a new machine so I think I should be able to get more of my machine stuff." - She still wasn't impressed but I ordered some end mills/tools anyway. :biggrin:

Nice bike Your dad looks real good on it too. I hope my Son appreciates me as much as you do your dad. The shop looks nice too.
BTW I was not the person that said cut 1/2 x1/8 I was the guy that used 2 pcs. 1/2x1/2 and milled slots for the smaller bits on center. like in these photos.Then I just make fine Adjustments with feeler gages i use for shims. You having a QCTP can adjust with that.

Just get tooling with replaceable inserts, initial cost is more but the time saved is priceless. Tim
