I'm also very interested in making a plinth if its going to make my machine more rigid! I'd love to see any info, any tutorials, etc of making one on my "new" machine!

As I mentioned previously, its just a piece of mild steel stock. Turn it to diameter, make a recess in one end that fits tightly over the cross slide dovetail, two threaded holes for the pins and a tapped hoke in the top for the qctp.

At any rate, I hope you enjoy your new lathe. When I got my Atlas, a whole new world of possibilities opened up.
