I made a single end bump tool that works on any angle without adjusting.

Ball can roll in all directions to true up the diameter, face & any angle inbetween.

That bearing setup can come in handy and cost isn't that much.

Can I ask what size / caliber of lathe that you are using this burnishing tool on? I have used Cogsdill rotary burnishing tools on I.D.’s before to obtain required finish. I would think that the side loading of the cross slide might be an issue in that it may not be robust enough, ( the main reason that I prefer scissor type knurling tools). Brings to mind setting boxtool rollers after the cutting tip rather than before.
