How to indicate a workpiece clamped at an angle

Psssst. It's a good reason to learn a little cad. It does all the math for you!

Just ignore all those old timers who told you wouldn't always have a calculator in your pocket and needed to know long division, bla bla bla. Possibly the best "Pah. Hold my beer" the world has ever seen ;)

Seriously, though: It makes stuff like this a doddle and you can't even get the formulas confuddled. Hell, I couldn't tell you how to do a manual trig calc without looking it up and would probably mess up doing the calculation anyway.
 
Stefan Gotteswinter did a video on just that problem. He made a gauge that consisted of a short piece of round stock with 90* cut away. Basically 3/4 of a circle. Check out his You Tube video.
