How about replacing the motor with Single Phase

What about a VFD?
While they do make single - to - three phase VFDs, it would have been too difficult to install. Would require either a whole 'nuther control panel for stop, speed, jog, off, reverse, etc; or completely rewiring the lathe existing controls to control the VFD. And there are two motors in the lathe . . .. . the second is a 3-phase coolant pump motor. That'd have meant another VFD.

Makes Sense.
