I'll offer up an option here for this, I keep broken or worn drills for this, usually the shank is soft enough for turning but usually hard enough for punching purposes, and if your luck you'll have a worn tap drill size.
Not sure but what comes to mind is I remember Keith Fenner & his "monkey sh*t". I wonder what kind of caulking it actually is, I would like to get some. Reminds me of silly putty in a way.
