Dial Calipers

I will soon be listing a older set of Starrett 6" dial calipers.
Haven't decided on price but it will be less than 1/2 list.

I dropped my dial calipers and now dial is off half round from where zero was. Is there a way to get zzero back on top?

It may be little consolation, and it doesn't take away the empty feeling in your gut, but you are not the first one to drop a nice mic!

Hate to admit it but I lied. Located the calipers but they were 12" and set up to read inside Dia. so I decided to keep em.
Thought I had a extra set of 6" but memory is bad and I've been jumping between too many projects to be properly organized.
Hope your able to get good repeat readings with your calipers.

Sears USED to sell some pretty decent tools. Back in the 70's I got as a gift a Sears dial caliper. Over several years I dropped it at least 3 or 4 times,on concrete. Finally,after the 4th. drop,it got out of whack,and I couldn't get it back to usefulness.

I thought that was pretty good for a dial caliper,to survive that many drops !! I have no idea who made it for Sears.
