Central Machinery Mill Drill specs? Worth $2k?

That is made in Taiwan(better than China) and I’ve wished several times mine had the downfeed. That is a rare accessory and worth a couple hundred $$’s but still high depending on shape and tooling.

I picked up a LC30 (Canadian version) for $500 Canuck bucks about 6 years back?

It came with some tooling however it had a 460V motor, so I had to swap that. I converted it to CNC and cant imagine my home shop without it, I use it all the time.

Would I prefer a knee mill, yes, but if you get in the habit of thinking about the vertical setup before starting you can usually avoid having to reposition the head. A set of shorty drill bits also helps.

You also need to consider the weight if you need to move into a basement. I moved mine solo and it was not super easy. A full sized Bridgeport would have required a full disassembly.
