Boring Head To Large For Mill-drill

Yeah, don't sell it if it's too big... Just buy a bigger machine. Then you can buy bigger tooling for it, some of which is too big and then upgrade again. It's a cycle of sorts.

I hear you can use them in your lathe tailstock (with a 60" or ball center in the boring bar hole) and use it to eliminate (or create) taper in your work when turning between centers. I think most lathes over the 11" swing range use MT3 tailstocks.

If it where me I would make bushings to use 1/2" and 3/8" boring bars.

Just get some 3/4 stock make your own with inserts or brazed or a piece of HSS ,carbide etc(dull ,damaged ,drill bits, end mills ,taps etc) Only turn down what is needed to get in small holes, long reach, short reach, big bar less chatter. You can do it. Pride in doing, priceless:).

I have several from a micro up to a 5 inch. Below is a 1-1/2" in my Enco 10x54 mill. I would think a 1-1/2" would be perfect for a mill/drill.

The Micro below. Takes a 3/8" diameter boring bar.
