Bison 5C Chuck on a D1-4 Backplate

Must be a different one than what is listed on the Bison site. Therefore I would keep it.
It’s similar to the one on the Bison website. The model number is etched onto the metal and it’s hard to make due to the patina that has developed so I can’t positively identify the model number.

I mounted a D1-3 backplate to a similar Bison Chuck, I can’t see why a D1-4 would be any different. I was considering changing the backplate to a D1-4 to use on my SB 10L lathe.
Thanks. If the previous owner hadn’t told me that he couldn’t make it fit I wouldn’t have even questioned whether it would work. I don’t see a problem and apparently nobody else does either.

One area people get messed up with is that D1-4 and D1-3 both have 3 pins, and they appear similar. You should have no problems mounting that chuck to a D1-4 backplate AFAIK.
