I think you’re right. I assumed the switch I have would work because it’s what was connected when I got the lathe. That doesn’t mean it’s the right one!

I have access to some industrial barrel switches I think would make a cool switch. As soon as I’m able to get one I’ll try it out, using the connection diagram you provided.

Thanks for everyone’s input! I’m probably making this harder than it has to be…

I’ll report back once I’ve acquired a different switch!
