Storage of lathe tools

CJ,

That looks nice.

The piece was, as I recall, the grill from the bottom front of my previous fridge.

but tough to duplicate! However, it reminded me of what's commonly called a "DIN rail" used to mount some telecommunications gear; like this:

There's a bunch of sellers on ebay.
hmmmmmmm.......

DIN rail for tool holder storage? Great idea! I have a nearly 8' piece left over from another project and will put it to good use.

Good fit for hanging the plastic storage bins (Linbins in the UK) too. Screwed to a sheet of scrap ply it's a lot cheaper than the louvred panels, if you're really tight the steel cable capping for plastering into walls is even cheaper...

It seems like a great potential source of distracting noise

The wooden rack on the back of my MK2, with drill chucks and keys sometimes develops a deadly rattle, in sympathy with the electric motor. I have to stop and 'jiggle" it.

"Storage of lathe tools" :dunno: What an interesting concept.
