Let us know...why should others get stuck.

Thanks,

I will start with this liar, goodbuyz:

I won this set of 1-2-3 blocks for $11.10 and paid on 12/15. He charges me $15 to ship this small item (he claims he has a "professional shipper" and uses this to jack up the shipping).
I wait and wait. He tells me it shipped. Finally, he shows me the shipping info on USPS, it shipped today. No explanation for the week delay to ship a small item.
He had some negatives, but most were from one guy, so I decided to give him a shot. $11 seemed a good deal for B&S 1-2-3 blocks.

The guy jacks up shipping, takes forever to send it out, and lies about when he sent it.
He has a lot of sales, so he can absorb some negatives.
I'm sure he wasn't pleased how cheap I got this item.

My issue is LYING. He told me it shipped a week ago.

If there is a delay, just say so. I understand things get busy around Christmas.
Don't tell me something shipped, provide a tracking number before you even
brought it to the post office (there was NO information from USPS because he
never brought it to USPS).

Guy's a liar- that bothers me.

Same here....

It finally showed up on the USPS web site a week AFTER it had been delivered.
And when I print a shipping label w/postage at home, it prints the tracking number too, so having the number before going to the P.O. is an everyday thing. But when it first shows up on the USPS site (IF it shows up), it will tell you that the shipping information has been received, but it doesn't necessarily mean the the post office has taken possession of the package yet.

been waiting on my band saw for 3 weeks now, seller is dealwagon still no tracking number, all he can do is give me the run around. getting tired of paying for stuff and not getting it on time or not getting it at all:angry: this dont just happen on ebay either

I have only had one or two bad experiences in about 10 years, so i am doing okay!

What i look for before buying anything is their score and feedback, also how long have they been selling for is important.
Quite a few have been buying for a long time and then decide to sell and it does not work out sometimes.

Buying from reputable sellers almost always costs a bit more but you know what you will get.

I have bought some cheaper name branded tools that were supposedly "NIB" and they were seconds or rejects.
But as my Dad always has told me " You get what you pay for"

Here is a list of the guys i usually browse and have had no issues with:
1- reliabletools
2- ctctoolseller
3- Discount Machine Shop
4- Big Daddys Vintage Tools
5- jrwoodca Precision Tools

No affiliation to any of them, just had some good buys from them and good service!

I have been lucky,no one has been bad to deal with so far. I've heard so much bad talk on other fora about mikekandu I won't deal with him.

That can happen for sure. The goodbuyz seller first told me that the USPS system was backed up, that is why no tracking info was there, then it turned out when the info was available that it wasn't there before because he'd just shipped it. He then apologized for "the delay." (This was after sending me messages that it shipped a week ago).

What Mayhem said was true- delays are no biggie. I don't have immediate use for these items anyway. The problem is the lying. Sellers who lie- well, you just don't know what else they are lying about, if you know what I mean.

Had one seller tell me there was a family emergency that delayed shipping a week, (after the fact), and I gave him a positive rating. I appreciate the truth. I guess I'm too picky, but I don't like to be lied to. If they tell me that there is a holdup, I'm ok with it. If they tell me it shipped and it didn't (and they should know better), I'm suspicious.

Like I said, could be me. I've done a lot of business on Ebay and been very happy most of the time.

I have had a couple of close calls on Ebay. One was by a seller who shipped when he got ready, but always sent a tracking number the next morning and one whose merch was lost somewhere in their wharehouse or in the USPS system. I always look for power sellers with high sales counts and minimum negatives. If they have negatives I always look at what caused them and see if that is a trend before I buy from them. Sometimes I may end up paying a tad more but I always have gotten my product in a week or less barring the first issue I mentioned above. Since I am ordering from the internet I usually make a couple of small buys from a vendor before I drop a big order to see how they do business. If they do OK I put a note in when I save the seller so I know who is fast and who is slow. And I always pay with a method that affords me insurance protection just in case.

Expecting someone to be honest with you when doing business with them is certainly NOT being picky. Do unto others.....

I went through a similar situation around Thanksgiving with a company I had never done business with before. On their web site they claimed an average lead time of 1-3 weeks for their service. After exchanging several emails with the owner, he told me that they were pretty busy and to expect a 2-4 week turn around for my part to be finished. After 7 1/2 weeks I finally got my part returned. I truly believe that from day one, he knew full well that he would not get the work done for me in the 3-4 weeks that he quoted me. I don't like being lied to either, but I have no way of proving my suspicions. He came highly recommended based on several internet sources, so I didn't say anything about it. If I would have been told up front it might be two months time - it would not have even been an issue.

After all of that, I now find that although his work looks good at first glance (hard coat anodizing) - it is not durable at all which is the reason for using his service in the first place! Some days you just can't win.

Wasn't there another ebay seller that everyone seemed to have problems with? I think he recently changed his username again?
toolsforcheap? or Eric(something)???? I think you had mentioned him in the past Nelson. :headscratch:
