X2 Mini Mill iGauging DRO install

I've had no issues with chips on the scales. I do vacuum often as I'm working to keep chips under control.

Thanks for the reply. I should be OK. My wife, the Queen of clean is always cleaning my shop. does not want chips dragged into the main part of the house.

When I installed the Igaging scales on my little Sherline mill I did not feel that I had space for ridged chip guards so I just went down to the local fabric store with the wife and bought a 1' x 3' pc of thick vinyl (guess it's used for custom shower curtains or ??). cost all of $4.00 and will probably last me forever (well I am an old F@#t). It's just held on with simple spring clips.

Thank you for your reply. I don't have DRO on my Sherline mill but have them on my mini-mill. Your vinyl idea is great because my way covers were torn when I bought the mill new from Grizzly. It didn't worry me so I never asked to have them replaced but the vinyl will sure protect the scales. A little tape will keep it in place.

Nice work. You should consider Touch DRO to compliment the mechanical set-up you installed. I set mine up with it and have not been disappointed.
