I made a prototype adapter out of aluminum. If aluminum works Iwill leave it there permanently. Now waiting on gear puller. Thanks everyone for the help. This site and everyone who participates has been a lifesaver for me. I am permanently home alone most of the time due to some medical issues, and this site has allowed me to have fun with machining.
I created the key with this milling contraption I built out of old broken stuff. It’s ok for small stuff. I used it to key the 7/8 side.
The final part in aluminum. I didn’t bother cleaning it up.
