What QCTP to get for EMCO Compact 8?

I would order a couple of the smaller belt, the one that is under tension by the tensioning lever. It always makes me nervous that they used such a small belt to drive this lathe but somehow it seems to work pretty well. The larger drive belt from the motor is big enough for the job and should hold up okay.
 
Is there anyone has made a chip-guard for this marvelous lathe, I am looking for pictures and ideas, especially how to not cover the motors ventilation.
Also I am looking for buying a allover dust cover…
 
The Compact 8 did not have a chip guard. In truth, most of us prefer not to use one but it does enhance safety and keeps excess oil from a freshly serviced chuck from making the well known stripe on your favorite T-shirt. Steve Bedair made one for his 9 X 20 lathe here: http://bedair.org/9xshield/shield.html

On lathes with chip guards as standard, the shaft of the guard triggers a switch that prevents the lathe from turning on unless the guard is lowered into position. You'll have to figure out how to wire that if you prefer to have this function.

Ok mikey, let me be more specific. I am not talking for the chuck-guard but for chip-guard form the back side of the lathe. Excuse my English I don’t know if chip-guard is the correct word.
 
Oh, okay, you're talking about the back splash that sits behind the lathe and keeps chips from flying behind the lathe, right? The Compact 8 did not have one so you'll have to fabricate one from sheet material. You can either attach it to the lathe or to the bench.

Back-Splash…? Ha ha ha, you see what I mean “excuse me for my English”. Here in my country (Greek speaking Cyprus) I am getting difficult to communicate even with the local machinists, since they speak there own slung language. Anyhow, now you point me the correct word I will Googleing to find some ideas…
