You might want to check it but the adapter on my lathe has a sweet spot, depending on where it's oriented. You can have .005" of runout in 1 place and as little as .0001' in the sweet spot.
a .0001" DTI barely moves on the spindle taper in multiple positions. < .0001" runout. Actually going back and reading an old post. The MT5 to MT3 adapter had < .0001" runout as well. It was a MT3 test bar inserted in the adapter that had the position sensitivity.
