That's what one of the full-size (0 – 1" or maybe 0 – 2") micrometer heads is going to be; 0 – 1/4" is a bit too small a range for that and the thimble is a bit large - the 460A has a normal diameter if you're looking for a 0 – 1/4" range.
Today I was able to pick up a few items. I was a little late to hearing of the “sale” but managed to dig through some boxes that appeared to be mostly junk. I not a professional and most likely will never need the accuracy of these but the price was right. The last calibration on the depth gauge and caliper was 2010 IF these are original boxes. Some other odds and ends and bags of “smalls” I have yet to go through.
So let me know if I did ok
I know the pin gauge set is of lesser value looks new with anti corrosive wrap still intact , so far the few gauge blocks I tried I was able to wring them. It is missing the 1” block
Some of the smalls pictured and its random stuff like that, pins, cutters, drills ectect. All loose in bags.
Someone give a rough value

It hurts to admit this... but I've finally had to face facts...
I am not able to lift these heavy lathe chucks any longer. My right elbow and shoulder are both in bad shape... as is my left knee.
So, I've started looking for other ways to lift them... I picked this up this morning...
It's Harbor Freight's 1 ton hoist... I'm hoping I can modify it to be able to use it to swap chucks. It won't work as-is... I'll just have to play with it to see if it can be modified to work.

Is it to much to build a I beam trolley set up for a hoist?
Couple if A frames Heck buy a fee small chain hoists and you can just store the chucks suspended out of the way.
You can always buy a few mire lathes and each have its own chuck set up.

On a bit of a portable cassette player collection binge right now. Ran across an off brand player that I actually owed back in the early 80's:
Nothing special. It's basically a walkman "knock off" sold in Canada by Citizen. A little banged up, but these aren't exactly common. It's a little bit of nostalgia for me to hold on to. Worth the 20 bucks I paid for it, if for nothing else to sit on my shelf and remember the 80's....

Kind of like having a tractor for every implement. That way you don't have to unhook an implement and go hook up to another one!More lathes?

The vise I've been needing more and more lately finally showed up. Been waiting quite a while on it. I'll probably have to beg/borrow/steal a mag drill to mount it to the table. Don't have time to get it all the way unpacked just now, I'll get some better pictures tomorrow.
