I remember that episode, it might have been my impetus to think of using it for the lathe.
If you shoot it with a 1.5-ish nozzle, bedliner finishes looking matte. With a small bit of naphtha, it flattens out to a dull shine. It only builds texture when shot through a sputtering nozzle. It's tintable, so any color you could want is available. Just buy more than you think you'd need for coverage.
