Recently replaced a water filter and I haven't been able to toss it. I keep staring at it, wondering what I could do with it. The filter canister is 3" in diameter and 13" long. It appears to be seamless stainless steel. (Not magnetic.) The top of the cartridge is crimped over a plastic piece. I'd like to reuse this steel, as it seems "too good" to throw away. It's an H104 Everpure water filter, for under sink use. I thought I would saw off the top crimp, pull the guts out and save the stainless shell. Do any ideas pop up in your heads?

Yes, I forgot the pictures... Here they are. Unit of measure = sticks of butter!

I was about to say. 3"x 13" sounds like an Everpure. Most excellent water filter.

Might make an interesting muffler for a smallish engine. Would need to make a baffle tube to go inside. Mike

Use it with Evaporust for de-rusting appropriately sized parts.

The filter is, IMO, another example of our grotesquely un-green society. It should be rechargeable/reusable.
