This multi speed pulley is a factory option. It was designed to be installed into the column. It has an eccentric that is inside the column. By turning the pulley assembly inside the column, the belt tension can be adjusted for the different available speeds. There is a tension shaft to tighten the pulley assembly when the belt tension is adjusted.
