So I was doing some cleaning in my shop and ran across a Vintage Model 277 1/4in Drill that was my Dads years ago. It was made by Portable Electric Tools Inc. I did some looking but can't come up with any info on this drill and thought maybe someone on this site may know how to find info for old power tools. This drill is really in good shape for the age of it and it has a Jacobs chuck. This drill must be at least 60 years old or more. Any help would be great. I did find some info on the company but nothing on the tools they sold.

So to just show that I have this !!!! Here are a few pictures of the drill. When I was taking these I also noticed a part number on the chuck so maybe might get info from that.
This drill does run but wanted to pull the front housing and can't get the chuck off. It is right hand thread because I can get it to start to come off but only goes about 1/4in and than gets tight. I also am not sure what the ring is for behind the chuck I believe it was or is used to hold the shaft to remove the chuck but it doesn't do anything may be it is broken in some way. Before I go wrecking something I don't want to forse something.

Open the chuck, look inside for a screw to remove it from the drive shaft. No bets, however.

First thing I did and there is no screw and like I said it will start to come off but stops about 1/4in and than stops. I really don't want to go breaking anything to turn the drill into junk.

That’s a drill motor.
