Using Mill to align die?

New member here, an old engineer new to home metal work. I joined to ask this question and more.

I have a pro light 1000 CNC mini Mill that I have been getting to know. It has done well for me in milling and drilling aluminum on my first few small projects.

I am now needing to use a 2"/55mm die to thread the nub I have milled onto an irregular part.

I have threaded several holes using a Chuck with a spring-loaded tap holder, with great success. It certainly is Handy to know that the tap is perfectly vertical and aligned with the just-drilled hole

I would like to be able to do a similar operation with the die, after milling a nub of the appropriate diameter onto my otherwise irregularly shaped part

I see several offerings for floating/fixed die holders, but the engagement ends are always tapered Mt types for use on the lathe, never straight shank

My mill takes three quarter inch shanks, which would be preferable to avoid having to use my Chuck. My Mill only has a 9 in vertical travel.

I could even make something like this work, but I can't find one of any shank diameter for the 2 in dies

I don't have a drill press, so can't merely apply steady pressure from above against the flat face of the chuck, as many do.

I welcome any insight or links to potential solutions.

Ps, I also got the pro light 3000 lathe and have fired it up to confirm it is in working condition, but have yet to begin learning or using it. I hope to milk this place dry!

I have similar die holder for my lathe, it works very well. I suppose it would also work on a mill but 9" might be limiting. Can you possibly turn the "Nub" on the lathe?
 
Besides lacking the courage to tackle the lathe just yet, the piece is irregular and not suitable for mounting in a lathe Chuck.

Had I the skills already, I would probably buy one of the sets above and turn and tap my own custom shank, though I don't believe in the 3000 has the gusto to turn material of sufficient strength
