Upgrading my LMS 5200 to the PM 1030

I am surprised your 5200 doesn't nail 1/1000th cuts. My LMS 7350 will hit measurements in the tenths of of a thousandth of an inch. Now if you are starting with square celluloid/acetate/hard-rubber stock, I can understand why the 0.75 spindle hole is limiting, but if you are starting with round stock, a 3/4 inch body on a pen starts to be a bit on the large'ish size.

I work a similar hobby on my lathe, which is restoring antique fountain pens. Finding a replacement feed/section/body for a hundred year old pen can be tough. Making one is a snap if you can find matching materials. However, don't get me started on making replacement clips ;)
