Trav-a-dial Model 6A

The Trav-a-dial has no electronics & no cords / wires. Just a simple mechanical device that is super easy to install on any lathe.
Here is the Model 6A with no screws holding it together

In addition to the reasons for not going digital readout (above) I also like the idea or fact that is analog, not digital.

The screws are #6-32, and the heads are about 9/32" diameter.

Thanks. I'll try milling one of those divets some and see if I can find the screw

The scrapers that I mentioned are or were available from Travadial, they are a bronze stamping that fits over the roller end of the device and is located with stamped ears against the sides of the body.View attachment 284032View attachment 284034

That does help a lot, especially if I can find all 6 of the screws !!!!!

Sure wish we had more mechanical DROs such as the TravaDial still available instead of the relatively very fussy digital stuff.

SWI was company that made them. And I think they are still fixing them. I looked them up and they have a price list on line. They used to be in south Los Angeles area.
