Tool holder flats not parallel with insert

Thanks, you are right, I looked at the inserts in the box and they can only be mounted one way.

NP, just wanted to point that out just in case though I doubt anyone would have trouble figuring these inserts out. I have seen people trying to cut with the insert anvil/seat.

Those IR style inserts will only give you 3 cutting tips, they can't be flipped upside down.

I do notice that this type of tool holder is expensive!

Not if you buy the imports.
I have a full assortment from 8 to 20mm dia., with inserts they cost me less than $100

I think the angle is excessive. The insert is neutral so 5- 7 degrees would be adequate for clearance. I'm sure others will disagree.
