well that's a dumbass name for a framing hammer. Imagine a wife trying to get her husband a welding hammer for his Birthday or Christmas. They see this, and whamo, instant disappointment when opened.
 
yep, I recently needed a 1/4 extension for holding driver bits. I use it for a wire brush and drill bits with a 1/4 hex. I wanted a locking one, so that when I pull out the bit comes with it. Bought Dewalt thinking it would be quality.. Even many Dewalt bits don't lock in. Total Crap.

edit: They decided to do things differently than everyone else. Rather than use a simple ball, they use a cylinder and come in on the high point of the hex... But most of the time it does not engage. Bully for them.
 
14 oz seems very light for a framing hammer. It definitely is a framing hammer though as it has the magnetic nail starter feature. Perhaps the "mig weld" refers to the manner of manufacture of the hammer.
