as stated in title, I am looking for information to correct previous modification done by previous owner on a Tida TD4A Lathe driver motor configuration? and size and RPM, and pulley size please and thanks in advance

the tida's came with an anemic 1hp single phase motors on the 1024's and an anemic 1.5hp single phase motor on the 1236 class of lathes
they are 1750 rpm (nominal)
the OEM motors are metric 80 frame
they had a step pulley with 2 different sizes on the same pulley
i can give you a measurement in a little bit, for the pulley.

if you are looking to get a stock motor, i have a 1.5hp single phase 80 frame motor that came out of my Shenwai SW900B, when i upgraded to a 2hp 3phase, with a VFD.
send me a message if you are in need or interested

i'll reply with the pulley size shortly

I also have the stock motor available if you're interested but shipping is probably prohibitive to Alberta.

Get a 2HP 3 phase and VFD, you won't be sorry.

John

hello sir thanks I am definitely interested please keep me posted and I'd sure appreciate that pulley dimension thanks again sorry and what is a VFD, I'm assuming it's a variable switch?

hello sir thanks, does the stock motor still have the correct pulley on it?

The duplex pulley dimensions are
Small OD is 70mm
Large OD is 100mm
Center bore is 19mm with a keyway

The VFD controls motor speed , giving variable speeds which is desirable for many operations

I’ll post pictures of the OEM motor nameplate and the duplex pulley when I get home

thanx sir, I really appreciate it , the motor that was installed is way too big and fast and from the pics I found on line the single pulley looks way too big and with the belts all in slowest positions the lathe is still screaming way too fast

Sounds like someone installed a 3450 rpm motor in it
A VFD variable frequency drive is a device used with a 3-phase motor to give variable speed among other features
Some models can also convert single phase power to 3-phase

here is the nameplate picture and a picture of the duplex pulley

the pulley is for B style fractional horsepower belts

i incorrectly identified this motor, as it is only 1Hp, not 1.5 Hp as i had in my other lathe- sorry for any confusion

On one of my shenwai lathes i used the OEM pulley after some modification .

On the other, i used a smaller single sheeve pulley (2”) to help the VFD controlled motor keep torque at low spindle speeds
