thread cutting

great thread, think i will check lathe again to make sure level and i do have that bit level tool, just haven't used it that much yet:thinking:
 
If it helps any, it took me 3 hours to figure out how to cut my first threads on my Sheldon. I assumed the lever on the qc gear box for the lead screw was A,B,C and it's NOT. Its A,C,B if I remember right. Once I got that behind me, it was no problem.

that is funny, mine is c-a-b i wonder why they change position of letters like that which brings me to another question, on my chart it has the righting longetude feed 10 times per inch not sure what that means:thinking:
 
well i got me a chart now i can hang in garage with my sizes on it, i sandwhiched together with lexan plastic

I think that's how mine is. (CAB) I'm not sure what that means about the feed either but will do some digging. You should look at joining the Sheldon Yahoo group. A lot of good info, files and people there. John Knox there used to work at Sheldon.

i talk to mr knoxx on the phone today and he said he didnt know why the guy put that on there, as long as i go by the chart on the thread cutting i'll be fine, have you got your lathe together are them new pics, keep us informed on your progess:biggrin:
