tecumseh, tip of the day

if it was mine i would try welding a piece back on it and dress it up the best you can and try rethreading it or just replace the crank, if you try welding it make sure you put your die on first instead of the nut cause your going to have to cut the threads backward:thinking: this might be a hitnmiss situation:biggrin:mac

Warning...........OT! You guys and your chain saws.......pppffffttt

Irish,
On my motor I was going to drill and tap the center of the crank and use a smaller bolt to hold everything together. The only thing the nut does is hold the parts from coming off the shaft and the forces at that end is low. It's on my list to do but not needed until next winter so it is near the bottom. I do have a mower that needs a carb kit, but can not find it anywhere. The dealer near me has kits for many Tecumseh motors but not mine.
