Note there is books out there that gives you the measurment on tapers, it is a great book to have, i was lucky i found a display card 24" x 36 that has the tapers and their measurements + it has a drill size and tap size and fractions to decimals it is hung over my lathe very valuble to me:))mac but learn the math:))
 
So, Mr. Irishwoodsman, what you doing with all these tapers? You got a cool project going on that you're not telling us about? -Out with it.

well i,m a 53 yr old man that my math teacher said i would never get basic math or anything more advanced well this old man proved them wrong it was a driving force for me thats why i joined the military got my Ged learned metal working, teach i won he didnt teach me a thing i taught myself then guys like you came along and took the patience and taught me more:)) mac but i do make my own adapters with tapers
 
my first taper was a short mt5 for my sheldon for some reason they didnt use the standard mt5 so i had to cut one so i could make a adapter for a center which i didnt have, sheldon are great machines but they wernt made standard lol:))mac
 
thiking about getting a used clausing in the futue but a mill is next on the list cause i want to do some gear cutting:))mac

me too cause i'm having a blast making thing i can use, but thats why i try to help anyone they can learn but you have to find a way to teach them:))mac
 
but i'm still having a tad problem on inside tapers though i fig a cple more weeks i'll have it down, my son is helping me on that one, reputition will prevail lol:))mac
