David, I need to share a story about Blacksmithing...ha ha. Might save one of the other members a knock on the noggin...lol

A few summers ago when I taught a rebuilding / scraping seminar in Richmond Ca. The host had a friend who has a commercial Blacksmith Shop where we held the class. When I walked into the place, I make the mistake and said "where do you keep the horses you shoe?" I was abruptly told that a Farrier shoes horses and a Blacksmith does Metal design and forges metal structures. So for all of you like me, who watched Gunsmoke and you saw a sign that read Blacksmith and he was shoeing horses. Well times have changed.

The fellow out there was a past president of the Blacksmith Association and his name is Michael Bondi.
I had a chance today to correct the slack in my slide. I re- milled it to 1000 slack it was 100 percent better. I have one other item to change and that's the slide I made on the cross slide.i put a long slide with a bolt attached to the lath and the tapper block. I am going to put some close drilled holes and do away with the bolt slide. I noticed it was allowing some movement . The one tubalcain made had holes. I guess you should not try to change if it works.

Thanks for your input
