Tail stock turret?

===========================================================

This is what I put together for my 7x10. I bought a bare tailstock casting and made everything else, so I could keep my original tailstock. The stop assembly worked out well. Each chuck is numbered to match the stop that corresponds to it. ----- John
That's an impressive piece of work. Do the stops index automatically with the turret? What do you make that motivated this?

No, I have to index the stops by hand, as I do with the turret. I knurled the main part of the housing for a better grip. A ball D-dent locates each position. ------ John

The 2ed two photos are the parts that I make------

I have one (it came with my lathe - Southbend 9a) It's well made and has a lever you depress to rotate the turret. I've been using the lathe for about 8-10 years and I've only used it maybe twice. Most of us are just not in that much of a hurry and don't make tens or hundreds of the same part so it's a real "nice to have when you need it" accessory.

It depends on what you tend to do with your lathe. I could see it being really useful for a model maker that needs to make a bunch of identical parts. Last time I used mine was to make 4 standoffs drilled and tapped on both ends.

I bid on two of them at the auction.
This one was MT 3 and had 3 chucks on it. One chuck is decent the 2 small ones are kinda cheesy little things.
The other had one chuck on it but also had a couple of live centers with it. It was MT2 and went quite a bit higher.
I got the first one.
Who knows when I will use it but getting a neat lathe toy for pretty cheap always makes a guy's day.
Thanks for all the replys.
