Just a thought, Mike - might be worth sending some pics of Beth to Tony at Lathes UK. He has a section for unusual machines, and if he posts it someone may step forward with some info on her.

I had not thought of sending pictures to Tony, thank you for the suggestion!!!!
that may a very good start!
i looked at their equipment heading but didn't see a Superior Machine heading.
but, that doesn't mean he doesn't have any info!!!

Mike - Tony may not have any info himself but he might be interested in posting it on his 'unknown machines' section.

pretty damn cool. With a bit of thought you should be able to set up different cutters so you can do 2 different operations by moving the piece from one vise to the other and indexing off a known stop or point. Probably not such a big deal for one offs, but I imagine it would make multiples a lot easier. Either way, looks like you got yourself a cool little horizontal!
 
I have received information the may indicate that Beth may be older than i first anticipated.
i received an email that referenced a catalog from the 1920's mentioning Duplex milling machines.
it is worthy of further investigation.

That is one neat looking machine.... nothing that I've ever heard of... It's difficult to estimate it's size from the pics. What's the table size and estimated weight of the machine ?
