Straightening A C-clamp?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for all the advise. I did get the clamp straightened and it was way easier than I thought it would be going in.

First, yeah the hole may not be perfectly centred in the boss, but the spine was bent. Here's some better "before" shots of it sitting on my yellow level for reference.....





I was initially concerned that the clamp would be hard/springy and resist attempts to adjust it. However, you guys were right. And of course thinking it through if clamps were hardened they would be too dangerous as they would suddenly explode under tension rather than slowly yielding to the forces.

I put the clamp in my bench vise and grabbed it with a pipe wrench and made my adjustments. It took some muscle but the scoliosis was corrected. I also had to put it into the vertical press to close the "C" just a little afterward.

I thought I had some "after" pictures too, but I cannot find them....sorry.
