We had regularly replaced this gear when this machine was in heavy rotation.
While we’re playing with hypotheticals, there’s the difference between being the single operator of a hobby machine and being one of many monkeys tasked with making parts with the company’s machine.
But we’re talking about an Atlas clone here too. All the gearing was made of zamak to begin with, including the back gears. Surely a nylon replacement would be great in this application, while also being considerably more affordable, and quieter.
